Updating catalogs backupexec 11d
Not sure where I can post this but I thought I try here.Here is my situation I have Symantec Backup Exec 11 D installed on a physical server with all updates etc.For example, a Backup Exec 2010 Remote Administration Console cannot manage a Backup Exec 2010 R2 media server.
If I cancel the job it comes back and tells me there is a communication issue. I read somewhere that changing the network cards from Auto in ESX to Full Duplex etc might help. When you upgrade, Backup Exec automatically converts your existing definitions, configurations, and jobs to the current version.If any aspect of the data migration fails, then Backup Exec displays an error message stating that the upgrade did not complete successfully.If you want to change the configuration of your media servers, do it either before or after you upgrade to the current version.You cannot change the database location during the upgrade process.
It occurs when one or more Backup Exec services will not start.
